After a government shutdown and a severe winter, the Star-Spangled Banner Trail wayside (sign) has arrived in Riverside Park. The National Park Service installed the sign yesterday after several delays. The NPS has created the new Star-Spangled Banner National Historic Trail to highlight several of the sites that were involved in the War of 1812. The Riverside sign explains the significance of the cannons displayed in the park and has an artist’s rendition of the view in 1812. It is located near the gazebo area by the Riverside and Randall entrance. Check it out!
